NIGC Announces Region Training set for Washington State

Washington, DC March 30, 2011 — The National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC and/or Commission) has announced a regional training opportunity to be held April 12- 14, 2011 at the Clear Water Casino & Resort located in Suquamish, WA. This three day regional training highlights topics such as: internal controls specific to information systems, the internal audit function on how to spot an Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) violation and facility licensing. “The NIGC recognizes the importance of offering meaningful training opportunities throughout each of our regions to answer tribal needs. Training and technical assistance is a vital component of the NIGC’s mission and we have placed it as a top initiative for this Commission. Providing meaningful technical assistance and training is paramount to the success of Indian gaming,” said Chairwoman Stevens.


The NIGC is an independent regulatory agency established within the Department of the Interior pursuant to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988.
