Acting Associate General Counsel
Mila Ervin
Mila Ervin is an Acting Associate General Counsel in the NIGC Office of General Counsel.
Ervin joined the NIGC as a Staff Attorney in 2023 and formerly served as the Tulsa Region Attorney. Prior to joining NIGC, Ervin was an Assistant Solicitor in the Division of Indian Affairs, Office of the Solicitor at the Department of the Interior, where she managed a team of attorneys responsible for self-governance and economic development matters, including class III tribal-state gaming compacts and revenue allocation plans.
In 2009, Ervin received a Bachelor of Arts from Chapman University, located in Orange, California. In 2014, she received her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ervin was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 2014.

The Indian Gaming Regulatory Act created the National Indian Gaming Commission to support tribal self-sufficiency and the integrity of Indian gaming. NIGC oversees the efficient regulation of more than 500 gaming establishments operated by 250 tribes across 29 states.
